(Ongoing writing project)
A poetic typology of ways for walking and the sensations they evoke – in the city, on the countryside, in the forest, in the mountains, at the seaside. Paths, roads, tracks, sidewalks, bridges… Inspired by the long-distance walks of my four-leaf clover.
The project started during a residency at the Dansand festival in Oostende in 2014, where I walked the then recently designed green path around the city. During this walk I did not look to the left nor to the right, but only concentrated on the ground: the different types of pavement, the physical contact, the sound of gravel under my shoes. I gave a lecture and created a booklet out of this experience (see Publications). Almost ten years later, I picked up this thread as the starting point for a more ambitious writing project.
